RONALD NOVAK Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 13, 2021.
NOVAK--Ronald S., died Sunday, January 24, 2021, at the age of 82, after living bravely for ten years with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Disease. Ron graduated MIT and lived in Brooklyn Heights and Salisbury, CT for over thirty years until he and his wife Rose moved to Jackson Hole, WY, in 1993. There he enjoyed many outdoor activities most of all skiing and kayaking. He kayaked as many of the Western rivers as he could as often as he could including several trips down the Grand Canyon. He served on the Snake River Fund board and was a founding member of the Jackson Hole Jewish Community. Until Covid closed everything Ron was skiing, boxing, singing, working out, practicing Tai Chi, attending Parkies meetings, Monday Morning Men's Group and enjoying being with friends. Ron also loved travel, blue grass music, movies, Cubby The Wonder Dog, opera, Great American Song Book, art, theater, and politics. He was kind, generous, and witty. He did not have a bucket list because he lived his dream in Jackson Hole. Ron leaves his beloved family: Rose, his wife of over 58 years, their daughters Mara Novak of Hartland, VT and Leila Novak (James Barnes) of Boulder, CO, and grandchildren Gareth NovakMiller of Burlington, VT and Zoe Novak-Miller of Chester, VT. He is missed by many cherished friends. Interment was in Jackson, Wyoming. A memorial gathering will be held this summer at home in Wilson, WY.

I cherish my memories of being first cousins. Ron taught me how to throw a baseball like a boy, ride a bike, deep sea dive and more. I hold him in my heart.
