Ronald Price

Ronald Lee Price passed away peacefully on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 in Detroit. The Michigan native and lifelong resident of Garden City was 70 years old.

Price is survived by his three sons, Robert Price, of Livonia, Joseph Price, of Garden City, and Michael Price, of Taylor. He is also survived by a sister, Linda Price Felt, of South Lyon and was preceded in death by his longtime wife Becky, who died in 2017. His older brother Charlie Price and half-sister Polly McClung also preceded him in death.

Born in Northville, Michigan, on Jan. 20, 1954, Price was a graduate of Garden City East High School and earned a fine arts degree from the College for Creative Studies (CCS) in Detroit. He met his wife Becky while attending Henry Ford Community College and they married in 1983. They lived briefly in Pensacola, Florida before returning to Michigan to raise their family.

A longtime landscaper, besides his family, Price's other passions included art, history, and cooking (especially Cajun and southern flavors). He loved exploring the outdoors and discovering the world of nature. His wife Becky also helped with the landscape work in the summer when she was not teaching, and together, they instilled in their three sons a love of the outdoors, nature, swimming and wildlife.

As an artist Price was a wonderful painter who focused his work on scenes from nature and portraits. As a child, he spent many summers in Nallen, West Virginia visiting with the McClungs, his Mother Marge's family, including his Aunt Tanner. He later loved exploring West Virginia with his sons and Becky, showing them the waterfalls, how to catch crawfish and reptiles, and swimming.

Family will hold a private memorial at a later date.
