Ronald F. Pufahl, age 74, of Montgomery, IL, died on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Rush Copley Medical Center Aurora, IL. He was born June 23, 1944 in Urbana, IL, the son of the late Frederick R. and Lydia L. (nee Lock) Pufahl. Ron served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He attended meetings for many years at Church of the Brethren, and volunteered at prisons to coordinate A.A. meetings. He is preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Bunten, and longtime friend Burley Holland. He is survived by his brother Alan Pufahl of Concord, CA, his brother Bill (Cindy) Pufahl, his nieces and nephews and caregiver Ken Murphy of Crescent City, IL. Ron's easy laughter and grounded sense of humor will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to either American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), ASPCA Gift Processing Center, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20077-7127; or a donation to a local no kill animal shelter.
