Ronald RICH Obituary
(April 30th, 1942 to July 29th, 2013)
Retired Manulife Financial 25 years
Peacefully at the May Court Hospice, at the age of 71, surrounded by his wife and loved ones, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Best friend and loving partner of twenty-eight years to Donna Bull. Proud father to Dan (Alana) and David (Michaela), and will also be missed by their mother Cheryl. Cherished grandfather of Megan and Brad. Son of the late Robert Rich and Elinore Walker. Dear brother of Dennis (Geri deceased), Kenny (Karla), Linda (Walter Gunn), Kevin (Susan), Bruce (Maureen). Predeceased by brother Robert (Jane). Ron will be truly missed by his extended Bull family of the last 28 years, who he was so much a part of; Gordon, David, Barbara (Dale), Dan, John, Bob, Carol (Giorgio), Michael, Ron, Sandra (Craig). He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Dr. Stan Gertler, Rejeanne and the staff at the Ottawa General Cancer Centre, and sincere thanks to Dr. Lisa Cross and the amazing staff at the May Court Hospice. Ron was a beautiful person who loved life, golf and travel. He believed in making the most of every day. His wonderful sense of humour, positive outlook and infectious smile will be missed by many friends and remain forever in our thoughts. Friends may visit at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd. (between Baseline Rd. and Bayshore Dr.), Nepean on Tuesday, August 6th from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 7th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 153 Woodroffe Ave., Ottawa ON Thursday at 12 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations to The May Court Hospice, 114 Cameron Ave, Ottawa ON. Dear Donna, We met Ron when the difficult circumstances of his health were already in train. Yet even then it was obvious that his spirit would not be broken. Hiis love for you, and you for him, would be the strength that would keep him in this life so he could be with you for one more birthday. Rejoice in his love and devotion to you and let every future birthday be remembered fondly and celebrated with joy! He was a remarkable man, that was plain to see. Dear Donna, Dan and David,
What an incredible brother Ron was. His many achievements in life always amazed us. He had our Father's sensibility and our Mother's humour and creativity. He loved life and all that it offered.
He was a great Dad and he loved his grandchildren. He was a very jolly Grandad.
Donna, the love you had for each other was truly a delight to witness.

I was truly sorry to read about Ron's passing. I knew Ronnie for many years. As a young man, he was always a force to be reckoned with. He played nets in hockey without a mask; he was one of the best jivers at the teen dances around Carlingwood; and he kept everyone in stitches with his hilarious impersonations of famous (and not so famous) people. When I last spoke to him after his retirement from Manulife, he was busy travelling, playing and teaching golf, and transporting and assisting seniors around the westend. Ronnie was a contributor; a really great guy. I will miss him.
