Ron was my Professor and Thesis Supervisor in the '80s at U of S. He was certainly one of my favorite Professors and highly respected friends. May his soul rest in peace, and his family and friends send him prayers whenever they read a letter or a book.

I knew Ron in Maisonneuve. His passing brings back great memories of growing up with him in that unique district of Montreal. Rest in peace Ron.

I have many fond memories of growing up with Ron in Maisonneuve; playing hockey together with the Boys Brigade and our days at elementary school. Glenna and I send our condolences to Velma and the extended family.

Ron, Doug, 2 Moniques, Larry, and Avrum made North Hatley a haven for me. After so many years, I'm still grateful for that experience. Anyone familiar with these friends, that time, and that place will know just how unique that experience was. It was a gift to have known Ron.

Mr.Sutherland was one of the most generous and sincere people I ever knew. His uncommon charm made him a natural role model for all of us who were lucky enough to cross paths with him.

I'm so sorry to hear about your father. He was a wonderful man, and always so proud of his family. He was my mentor and I have warm memories of all he did for me when I was writing my thesis. I had my wedding reception in your home and spent hours on your verandah with my nursing babies... Your parents' encouragement and support are precious to me. I wish you the comfort of sweet memories.

My most sincere sympathies to the entire family.
I had a chance to work with Ron 10 years ago and he was always a joy to spend time with.
Discussions were always lively, interesting and full of humour.
Bye Ron.

My deepest sympathy to Margaret and the rest of Ron's family. I grew up with Ron in Maisonneuve. We were friends for many years. I talked to Ron 2 years ago on the phone and when a friend e-mailed me today, I was shocked with the news. I have lots of fond memories of Ron and will never forget him.

Janet...Katherine...Velma...Winona...Colin...My sympathies are with you in the loss of your Dad. It brings a sad memory of when my dad passed away. Uncle Ronnie was such inspiration for me & I had so much respect for him & your Mom. I feel such a tremendous loss myself as he was someone I enjoyed spending time with, respected & loved. I want to be there for support for all of you at your time of loss but due to the situation I am in at work I am unable to get free. I will say my goodbyes when I visit your Dad resting beside your Mom & my Dad. I imagine Uncle Ronnie & Dad are playing pool right now & your Mom is sitting close by with her legs crossed underneath her, barefoot & having a few laughs. I miss them all very much as my tears fall. May time soften the loss of our loved ones....My heart is with all of you...Barry
