June 30, 1952 - November 12, 2016 Roni Weisberg-Ross of Los Angeles, CA, passed away on November 12, after a brief, courageous battle with a rare and aggressive cancer. Roni was born in Queens, NY, on June 30, 1952. She was an alumna with honors of University of California at Los Angeles. Following a first career as a producer of dramatic films for television, Roni moved on to a distinguished vocation as a psychotherapist. After earning a master's degree in clinical psychology at Pepperdine University, Roni founded and directed the West L.A. Psychotherapy Group. She also mentored counselor interns at the Southern California Counseling Center. Roni was predeceased by her father, Louis Weisberg. She is survived by her mother, Gloria Weisberg; her devoted husband, Mark R. Ross; her loving daughter, Caroline Ross; and her sister, Allison Weisberg Scales. Roni's passing is also grieved by her extended family and her widespread circle of friends and colleagues both past and present. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Liberty Hill Foundation (libertyhill.org) or the Southern California Counseling Center (sccc-la.org) in Roni's honor. A memorial service celebrating Roni's life will be held in the near future.

Roni helped me through a difficult time in my life. She was so caring, so thoughtful, non-judgmental, and always nurturing. Full of compassion and love. A beautiful person inside and out. Thank you for your guidance, Roni. I'm forever grateful. You are truly missed.

Darling Roni,

You so believed in me and my work and I know we lost touch when I moved to London, but always sent emails, etc. I had no idea you were gone. Somehow I missed the postings. I remember coming over one night and making dinner with you guys and I made my flourless chocolate tart with crushed almond crust and we ended up eating the tart first! My love and thoughts to your lovely family. You will be so missed, the most amazing woman. xxx Janet and Pendleton.

For me, Roni was wonderfully warm, clever, kind and funny, with fabulous taste in shoes. It has been a privilege to have had her in my life and I'm terribly saddened by her loss. I can only imagine how many people she has touched and how many therefore must feel the same. My heart goes out to her family. I miss her terribly.

Roni and I met on our very first day at UCLA in the summer of 1969. She was only 16, turning 17 just a few weeks later. We have been friends ever since, and even when our life paths diverged, ours was always what I call a "so anyway" friendship--we always picked up exactly where we left off. Her irresistible warmth, charm, spontaneity, empathy, talent, drive, and youthful exuberance shone brightly through the decades--even as she grew and flourished emotionally and spiritually into a magnificent woman who was a beloved wife and mother and had a healing, inspiring, and nurturing influence on so many lives. I loved her and treasured our friendship more than I can say, and I will keep her in my heart forever.

I've known Roni for many years and I must say that she brought joy and insight to everyone she encountered. She was a bright light in a dimly lit room. She will always be remembered and loved.

A lovely, smart woman I had the pleasure to get to know through work. It was always a better day in the office with her presence. Gone too soon. Bless you Roni.

Roni's smile lit up a room. She combined soulfulness, joy, reality, intelligence and caring in one beautiful package. My heart goes out to the family. Those of us who adored her will carry her with us.
