Ronna Magargee Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 30, 2025.
Ronna Marie Magargee (OHara), 79, of Independence, Missouri, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Born on June 20, 1946, in Kansas City, Missouri, Ronna lived a life marked by deep faith, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

A proud graduate of William Chrisman High School in the Class of 1963, Ronna carried the values of hard work and compassion with her throughout her life. She was a woman of many talents and interests-an artist at heart who found joy in porcelain china dolls, crocheting, knitting, sewing, weaving, painting, and a wide array of crafts. Her hands were rarely still, always creating beauty for those she loved.

Ronna's spiritual journey began at Gudgell Park RLDS Church where she was raised. She later nurtured her children in the Atherton RLDS Church and spent her later years worshiping at Outreach Restoration Branch. Her faith was not only personal but also active-she taught Sunday school and led crafts during vacation Bible school. Known as a devoted prayer warrior, Ronna's spiritual strength uplifted countless lives.

She shared a loving marriage of 60 years with her husband Ray Magargee and together they built a family rooted in love and guided by faith. Ronna is survived by her daughters Heather Phillips (Jon) and Kelly Stout (Dustin); her sister Doris O'Hara; her brother Michael O'Hara (Cathy); ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Matthew Magargee and her parents Eugene and Grace O'Hara.

Ronna's legacy is one of love fierce yet gentle-and an enduring commitment to God and country. She was known for her nurturing spirit, infectious laughter, artistic gifts, and steadfast kindness. A faithful friend to many and a guiding light to those around her, she leaves behind a tapestry of memories woven with grace and joy.

May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Ronna's life will be held on September 7, 2025, from 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM at Outreach Restoration Branch 723 S Chrysler Ave. Independence, Mo Visitation from 1:00-2:00
