Rosa DeLeon Balderas, age 65, passed away at Odessa Regional Medical Center on Monday, November 14, 2022. Rosa began her earthly journey in McCamey, TX on Thursday, February 7, 1957, born to the late Juan Angel and Clara (Rodriguez) DeLeon. In addition to her sweet parents and the father of her son, Oscar Balderas, she rejoined her beloved sister, Erma Finkley and nephew, Adrian Solis.
Rosa was a homemaker, a loving mother to her son: Oscar "Nico" Balderas and his wife McKenzie of Midland. Her spouse and longtime companion, Daniel Valles, will miss her sorely. She was a treasured sister to George DeLeon and wife Virginia, and Juan DeLeon, all of Odessa; and "Nana" to four grandchildren who were the light of her life: Adrian, Noah, Aubreelle, and Nicholas Balderas. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Larry Finkley and his children.
A wonderful mother, grandmother and aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, Rosa enjoyed time with her grandkids and her extended family. She was the backbone of the family and she meant so much to so many people. One of her favorite pastimes was gossiping on the phone with her sister, Erma. Along her journey, she spent 24 years working at the children's shelter and touched so many lives.
Funeral services will be held at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1:00 pm.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West and condolences may be sent to the family online at acreswestfuneral.com.
