Rosa Benetatos Obituary
She was born in Mitterkrreuth, Germany, April 30, 1929, daughter of Johann and Katharina (Gleixner) Schwarzfischer.
Rosa married Christopher A. Benetatos at St. Elizabeth Church in Wyckoff, N.J., on Jan. 14, 1961.
She and her husband owned and operated the White Birch Motel in Rutland.
She was a former member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Rosa, a true angel, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, baking, music, playing cards and spending time outdoors in the sunshine. She was a wonderful listener and a great storyteller. Rosa loved to tell people that she graduated from the likes of Yale or Harvard with a degree in "common sense." Rosa's loving, caring and joyful spirit was evident as soon as you met her.
Surviving are her husband, Chris Benetatos of Rutland Town; her daughter, Theresa Currier and her husband, Alan Currier, of Rutland Town; her son, Mark Benetatos of Rutland Town; her grandchildren, Maria and Kathryn Currier, Rosa Benetatos; nieces, Kristine and Cora.
She was predeceased by her parents; six siblings, Maria, Max, Anna, Hans, Fanny and Lenz; her son, Anthony, and daughter-in-law, Kattia Benetatos.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 1:00 p.m. in Christ the King Church. Private burial will be held in Maryrest Cemetery in Darlington, N.J.
There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to Maria & Anthony Benetatos Memorial Scholarship, College of St. Joseph, 71 Clement Road, Rutland, VT 05701.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Clifford Funeral Home.

My deepest condolences to my family. My Aunt Rosa was one of the greatest people I have known in my life. She was always willing to have us over when we were kids and showed us a lot of fun when we were around her. Although many years went by without seeing her very often, I was fortunate to see her a few months ago. As always we had a great time being around her. She will be missed very much. There are not enough words to describe Rosa. She was a wonderful lady, full of life and love. She never had a negative word to say, about anyone. I will miss hearing her say "Good Morning Sveet heart, with her accent, and that laugh that could make anyone smile, no matter what,or hearing her sing"She'll be comming round the mountain" in the morning.
