ROSALIE "ROSIE" LUJAN
August 4, 1945 - February 16, 2019
Rosie Lujan, born in Salinas, CA, had lived in Bakersfield since 1975. She had worked 40 years as an Instructional Aide in local schools, the last 19 years working at Thorner Elementary School, and retiring in 2009. She passed away February 16th at her home.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, Benny and Nieves Rimando, one brother and one sister. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Daniel Lujan; sons, Harry Gamotan, Sean Gamotan, step-son, Rene Heredia; daughter, Brandie Lujan, stepdaughter, Valerie Gonzalez; three brothers, two sisters, 15 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled Monday, February 25th from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Doughty-Calhoun-O'Meara Chapel with Recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, February 26th at 12:00 noon at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Bakersfield National Cemetery.

One of my greatest memories as a kid was all because of Rosie. We had gone to a wedding when I was about 5 yrs old and Rosie noticed that I really wanted the bouquet. Sure enough, lil Rosie held me in a crowd of much taller women and we caught that bouquet together. She was one tough cookie !!! We made some single ladies mad that day, im sure !On behalf of the Ochoa family we are truly sorry for your families loss. Sending lots of love and light your way
