Rosario Escobar-Cotto Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 5, 2022.
Rosario “Rosie” Escobar-Cotto was a mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world a warrior, fighting a long vigorous battle to cancer on October 19, 2022 at age 53.

She was born to Joaquin and Amalia Escobar on January 6,1969. She is survived by her two children, Christoper and Ariana.

A funeral service will be held in her honor at 10:00 a.m. on November 5, 2022 at Hillcrest Funeral Home.

Rosie graduated from Riverside High School in 1987, and moved to San Antonio to attend Our Lady of the Lake University. Rosie was passionate about educating the youth of San Antonio. She worked for SAISD as a headstart instructional assistant and was highly active in all aspects of PTA. She was an inspiration and lived life more determined than anyone could ever imagine.

Rosie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her children, the beach, spending time with family and eating crab legs. Rosie kept her spirits high and never let on to the pain she endured for years. She always had a big smile. She walked by faith not by sight.

Rosie loved being there and supporting her kids in any way she could. She loved to dance, was an incredible baker, and always loved the company of her family and friends. She was an amazing friend, and was always surrounded by individuals who loved and cared for her dearly. She had a warm smile, and was always there for anyone in need. She sparked so much happiness and joy to all those she knew.

To honor Rosie’s memory, we are holding a Celebration of Life on November, 5, 2022 at St. Paul’s located on 350 Sutton Dr., from 2:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. We invite anyone who knew her to attend and remember her wonderful life. We ask attendees to wear the color teal in honor of her fight with mesothelioma cancer.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to make donations to her children.

If you are unable to attend the service, please join us via the live stream link below.

How can I even start to write something on here. I cannot believe you are gone. Like a dream that I will wake up from. Waiting for your call to go see you. I will miss you. So many good times and not so good times spent together. I would not change anything. Love and will miss you forever.
