Rose Marie Jones

Rose Marie Williams Jones, age 73, of Elizabeth City, NC, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2024, at her daughter's home in Clayton, NC. Born in Buxton, NC, she was the beloved daughter of the late William Francis Williams, Jr. and Ella Nora Dickerson Williams. Rose was a devoted wife, loving mother, doting grandmother, cherished sister, and dear friend.

Rose's greatest joy was her family. She delighted in playing with her children and granddaughter, whether hosting tea parties or sharing enchanting stories. A marvelous cook, Rose was known for her delicious breakfasts, holiday feasts, and fabulous birthday cakes. Her talents extended beyond the kitchen; she was a skilled handyman, often found painting, remodeling, and decorating her home, especially during the holidays. Her love for gardening and nature was evident in her beautiful surroundings.

Rose's life was a testament to her strong faith in God and her gratitude for the blessings she received. She found joy in life's simple pleasures and always put her family first. Her spirit will continue to live on in the many lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Joseph Robert Jones; her daughters, Susan (Jamie) Russell of Clayton, NC, and Christina (Clay) Jones of Bay City, MI; and her cherished granddaughter, Caroline Russell.

Rose also leaves behind her brothers Charles Williams and Frank Williams, sister Ella Icenhour, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was predeceased by her sister, Anda Williams.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Medi Hospice for their support. The Cremation Society of the Carolinas is assisting the family.
