Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 25, 2018.
Rose Latino, 97, a life-long Pueblo resident passed away on September 25, 2018 at University Park Care Center, where she resided since June of 2010.
She was born on March 21, 1921 to the union of Joseph and Eva (Dionese) Latino. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and siblings and their spouses: Frank "Chick" (Carolyn) Latino, Virginia (Sam) Consinero, Charles "Snow" (Fern) Latino, and Anthony "Tony" (Mary) Latino as well as numerous other relatives. She was a proud 1940 graduate of Centennial High School and was raised and lived in the Goat Hill area. Rose was a devoted care-giver to her maternal grandmother and her parents. She was a beloved aunt and is survived by her two nephews, whom she helped raise, Joseph A Latino (Marilyn Antenucci), Frank C. Latino (Carol), her nine nieces, Vonnie Brewer, Virginia Arduini, Eva (Ross) Knittel, Fran Consinero-Valdez (James), Annette Geonetta, Donna Garcia (Robert), Patty Latino, Mary Kay Latino, Barbara Ussery, and their respective families.
Rose was truly a national treasure and was very proud of her nephews and nieces and their families. She was an outstanding care-giver and an excellent cook. Rose thoroughly enjoyed being with her family and friends.
A special thank you to all of her care-givers and the entire staff at University Park Care Center, which was her second home for eight years. Rose truly enjoyed and loved all the employees and her friends at the care center and her time playing bingo, listening to the music entertainers, watching old-time movies and all other activities. They in return, truly enjoyed and loved her.
Mass of Resurrection will be held on Monday, October 1, 2018 at 2pm at St Joseph Church in Blend with Father Joe Vigil as the Celebrant. Per her request, there will be no public viewing or visitation. The family respectfully request no food or flowers. Donations can be made in her name to either her home parish, Our lady of Mount Carmel facilities fund, University Park Care center Activity Fund or St Joseph Parish Facilities Fund. Family members will greet friends prior to the Funeral Mass or at the reception to be held in the Parish Hall.
