ROSE MARY SMOOT Kansas City - Rose Mary was the mother of three children; Donna Angel DeMarco (Luigi), Patricia M. Green (David), and George 'Russ' L. Chittim, all of the KC metro area. She was adopted by her parents Rev. Leonard and Merriam Smoot and Anna Hatcher Greer, who also taught her about the Lord and his love for her. Her biological parents Grover Thomas Strader and Alice Wilodyne "Margaret/Peggy" (McDonald) Gleason would have been proud of her. Rose Mary was the grandmother of 14 and Great Gma of many more. Rose was preceded in death by all of her Parents, 3 Grandchildren, her sisters Barbara, Helen and Clara Greer, her brothers George W. Redden and Harvey Y. Gleason. She leaves behind her sisters Glenda L. Larabee, Glenda L. Greer Morris and Barbara Strader along with brothers Frank W. Gleason and Fred and Larry Smoot in addition to many nieces and nephews. Rose Mary has lived in the Kansas City Metro area all of her life and was much loved by all. She was larger than life and a rebel at heart and will be uniquely missed. In her later years she found peace within herself and showed love and kindness to those she loved. She was a Catholic. She passed away peacefully on Feb, 21, 2023 with her family at her side and was cremated per her wishes. Desired contributions could be made to organizations that support Heart, Strokes or Dementia research.

Rose, it tears another piece of my heart and soul to loose such a wild spirit and kind soul. You took one glance at me and opened up your heart

My aunt Rosemary always seemed bigger than life. She was outrageous, loud, daring and loved.
I will miss her and the wonderful memories she has given me.

Aunt Rose Mary I miss the times of when we came up and we had family gatherings at Aunt Barb's. The poker games around her table. Or going to the lake. I know you are now at peace. Condolences to the rest of the family

Aunt Rosie thank you for so many wonderful childhood memories that I reflect on and treasure to this day. Weekends with my cousins, taco dinners, drive inn movies,
riding in your convertibles and so many more. I will love and miss you always.
