Rosemarie Castello Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from May 5 to May 6, 2022.
Rosemarie F. Castello 79, passed away suddenly on April 29, 2022. Rosemarie (Roro) is preceded in death by her husband, Michael, of 55 years, her father and mother, William and Marie Poggi, and her brother, Bill Poggi.

Roro was born on November 28, 1942, in Chicago, IL. Roro leaves behind three daughters, Laura Castello (James Peterman), Nancy Thomas (Glen), and Maria Mahant (Durshan). Roro was blessed with six grandchildren: Michael James Castello, Ashley Colon, Julia Reddy (Andrew), Charlotte Thomas, Rachel Thomas, and Felix Mahant. She was GG to John Patrick Reddy. Known as Auntie Ro to over thirty nieces and nephews and many beloved names to countless other extended family and friends.

Roro's generous, faith-filled heart could be seen through her many volunteer positions in the local community. As a long time, member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, she has been involved in numerous social and spiritual committees. Roro enjoyed the music of her Italian heritage and cooking many traditional dishes which she passed down to the younger generations. The beach brought her happiness. Her joy of travel left her with experiences that she cherished with her late husband, family, and friends.
