Eugene William Belz II

Bill grew up in Aurora, Colorado. He graduated from Aurora Central High School and then the University of Northern Colorado.

Bill spent 4 years in the Navy. 3 of those years were in Hawaii and 1 year was in Vietnam. His civilian career was dedicated to working with Veterans. Bill began by working for the Veterans Administration. He then moved on to the U.S. Department of Labor as the State Director of Veterans Employment & Training for Colorado. Bill retired as the Assistant Regional Director of Veterans Employment and Training. He was responsible for Colorado as well as 5 other states. Bill continued to support Veterans by volunteering for ESGR and other Veteran organizations.

Bill was an avid skier, fisherman, hiker, hunter, golfer, road bike & mountain bike rider and marathon runner. He excelled in almost everything he did.

Bill never met a stranger. He made friends easily and many of his old friends go back to grade school. He loved to organize outings. Whether it was a fishing trip, ski outing or a mountain bike ride, Bill kept everybody moving.

Bill loved animals, especially dogs. Over the years, he had 9 dogs that were his kids. The 3 Labs were great hunters. The rest of them were happy to walk in the park.

Bill lived life to the fullest. He loved living in Colorado and traveled in the mountains as often as he could. Bill will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
