Rosemary Barbara Erdmann was born February 3, 1925, the daughter of John and Rose (Kusser) Erdmann.  She attended school in Le Mars and graduated from St. Joseph Catholic School.

She was united in marriage to Arnold “Arnie” Robinette on February 1, 1944 in Le Mars, Iowa.  They made their home in Le Mars where Rosemary was a homemaker.  After all her children were in school, she went to work for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) office in Le Mars.  She retired after 37 years of service.  Arnie passed away March 27, 2000.

She was a member of All Saints Catholic Parish in Le Mars.  She was also a member of Catholic Daughters and Christian Mothers.  She and Arnie enjoyed wintering in Texas for several years.  They would often have been found out playing a round of golf.  They also enjoyed dancing for many years.  She enjoyed playing bridge and was in many bridge clubs through the years.

Survivors include her 4 children: Barb Robinette of Plano, TX, John Robinette of Le Mars, IA, Rose Nicoson of Le Mars, IA, and Roberta Kass of Le Mars, IA; 23 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; a brother: Bernard (Arlene) Erdmann of Le Mars, IA; 3 sisters: Sister Rosalie Erdmann of Chicago, IL, Marie Schmitz of Le Mars, IA, and Pat (Paul) Kolhoff of Round Rock, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rose Erdmann; her husband, Arnold “Arnie” Robinette; her daughter, Bev Cockrell; her son, Dr. Joseph Robinette; 2 sisters: Betty Erdmann and Marcella Nemmers; 3 sons in law: Myles Kass, Norm Cockrell, and Terry Nicoson; and 2 brothers in law: Gordon Schmitz and Marvin Nemmers.

Rosemary’s greatest joy was having her house full of family and if she could be remembered for only one thing it would be her wish that each member of her family would nurture their faith in God and trust in Him to support them with love when there was pain or things got hard.  She truly believed the more you loved the more you would receive God’s love through all those around you.

My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I worked with your mother at the ASCS Office and was a next door neighbor of hers when I was home with my family. Several years ago I moved into an apartment next door to her.

Katy and I would like to extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to both the Robinette and Erdmann families on the loss of Rosemary. She was a very loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother to her family. She is now joyfully reunited with her husband Arnie, son John, and daughter Dee Dee ( Beverly ) in the presence of our God and Creator in Heaven. I am sure they are all praying and watching over the rest of the family.
