Rosemary Ann Prebor

With deep sorrow, we announce the death of our mother, Rosemary A. Prebor, age 94, of Lakeland, Florida, who passed away peacefully at her home on August 21, 2025, surrounded by her four loving children.

Rosemary was born in Newark, New Jersey to Frederick and Harriet Dreutler on February 26, 1931, and graduated in 1949 from Cathedral High School. Rosemary moved to Burlington, Vermont with her mother and sister Dorothy when she was 14 years old, where she met Paul Prebor. They were married on August 7, 1952, and moved to Florida in 1960 with their children, Kathy, Paul and Peter, and Phillip was born a month after their arrival.

Rosemary was a Certified Professional Secretary, and instrumental in establishing a chapter of "Certified Professional Secretaries" in Polk County, and was named Polk County Secretary of the Year in 1980. Rosemary later was the editor of the Collected Letters of Obstetrics and Gynecology while working for Dr. Coy Lay, and earned a vocational training certificate in 1985 to teach secretarial skills to at-risk students at Worldwide International.

Rosemary was known for her kindness to others, ability to make friends, and a love of animals. When retired, she enjoyed writing, volunteering at assisted-living and long-term care facilities, enjoying the company of her many friends and family, and recently completed her first book.

Rosemary is survived by daughter Kathelyn Patria, son Paul E. Prebor, son Peter V. Prebor and wife Carla, son Phillip E. Prebor and wife Carol, and grandchildren Kyra, Nathan, Ryan, Robin, Paul, Paige, Stephanie, Tyler, and 11 great-grandchildren.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Paul E. Prebor, sister Dorothy Prebor, grandson Logan Strickland, daughter-in-law Lali Prebor and step-grandson Geo Eziashvili.

All are invited to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Woodbrook Estates community clubhouse, located at 1510 Ariana Street, Lakeland, FL 33803. Rosemary's family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to her friends at Woodbrook Estates, and everyone at Good Shepherd Hospice and Lakeland Regional Hospital for their wonderful care of our mother.
