SULLIVAN ROSEMARY
Rosemary Sullivan, age 73, of Washington, died, Saturday, March 5, 2011, in the Donnell House, attended by her family. She was born June 11, 1937, in Albany, NY, the daughter of the late Edward M. and Theresa Nolan Sullivan. Mrs. Sullivan was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers. For 50 years Rosemary owned and operated, R. Sullivan Rare and Out of Print Books from her home and eBay store. Her local history expertise and appraisal advice was invaluable to the success of the annual Citizens Library book sale. She served with several charitable organizations, including the Citizens Library, Washington County History and Landmarks, Washington Community Theater, of which she was a co-founder and the Charity Ball. She fed the hungry, helped the poor and championed the underdog. Mrs. Sullivan enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Steelers. On October 19, 1957, in Albany, NY, she married Robert M. "Sully" Sullivan. Together Sully and Little Sully filled their home with friends, books, rainbows and bubbles. Her beloved Sully died July 17, 2005. She is survived by her children, Patricia and Blaise Hollot, of McMurray, Timothy Sullivan and Elsa Edwards, of Washington, and Colleen Sullivan and Tim Buckholz, of Mamer, NC; grandchildren, Rachael, Theodore, Adelle and Olivia Hollot, Sasha Edwards, Aayden Sullivan and Henry Buckholz and many friends across the world. She is preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Sullivan, an aunt Esther Barrett, who raised her and stepmothers Mary and Rosella. Friends will be received from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in the PIATT & BARNHILL FUNERAL HOME, 420 Locust Ave., Washington, PA. A memorial mass and a celebration of Rosemary's life will be celebrated at a later date. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at the convenience of the family.
