Ms. Rosie Marie Smith Smoot, 61, passed away Friday, October 7, 2022 at Hugh Chatham Memorial Hospital. Rosie was born June 4, 1961 in Surry County to Carl and Katherine Franklin Smith.
In addition to her parents, Rosie was preceded in death by one sister. She is survived by two children, Chad Smith (Beth Reece) and Bobbie Smoot; two grandchildren, Carter Smith and Zoey Smoot; five sisters; one brother; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00PM, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Gentry Family Chapel in Jonesville with Pastor Danny Royall officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Elkin Dialysis Center for the loving care given to Rosie.
Gentry Family Funeral Service in Jonesville is serving the Smoot family.

I am so very sorry to hear about the passing of Rosie. Her mom named her Marie after my mom. Kitty thought the world of my mom. My sincere condolences to all the family. May God give you comfort and peace!
