Rosita Sorenby Obituary
Rosita was born on May 7, 1921, in Machala, Ecuador. In the late 1940's she immigrated to the United States, where she met the love of her life, Sven Sorenby, a fellow immigrant from Sweden. Together, they built a beautiful life in Southern California and were blessed with two children, Marie and Thomas. Rosita's family grew to include four grandchildren-Heather, Amy, Christina, and Katie-and ten great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy. Rosita is also survived by her beloved sister, Maria Merchan Azanza.
Rosita lived a remarkable life filled with resilience and faith. Despite facing many challenges, she embraced life with vibrancy and determination. She shared her love of cooking with her family, delighting them with dishes like arroz con pollo and Swedish bullar that reflected her family's rich multicultural heritage. An accomplished seamstress, Rosita also created beautiful works that showcased her skill and creativity.
Known for her unwavering strength and boundless love, Rosita touched the lives of all who knew her. Her legacy is one of love, perseverance, and devotion to family-a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
Rosita will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2025, 12:00 pm, at Loma Vista Memorial Park, 701 Bastanchury, Fullerton, California.

Mormor Rosie! The legend herself! Our dear señorita who was a pro at living life to the fullest! Your warm charisma was infectious Rosita, a fabulous hostess and the best guest. Always with a twinkle in the eye and a big smile on your face! You absolutely loved to "busa"! Thank you for all the special moments we had together both in the States and in Sweden.
It has been an honour! Until we laugh together again!

Beautiful, warm and eternally loving Rosita! How lucky we are to have had you in our lives! Your last time at the cabin in Bredglo Sweden you stayed up all night and sat on the veranda looking over the Baltics. When Birgitta asked you are you not going to sleep you said; no I will sit here to admire nature as I know I am leaving my footsteps behind. We will cherish all the memories and ensure those footsteps continue to enjoy both nature and also lots of lovely parties.
