**Obituary:**

Brook McConnell, 36, of Anderson, South Carolina, passed away on June 6, 2024, in his hometown. He was born on May 23, 1988.

He is survived by his father, William Ross McConnell; sister, Cassidy (Chris) Lewis; aunts: Jimmie (Tim) Hughes, Melissa Lewis, Sonja Chambers; uncles: Darryl (Robin) Lewis, Russell (Missy) McConnell, Rhett (Tammy) McConnell; maternal grandmother, Margaret Lewis; paternal grandmother, Linda Gardner; cousins: Lauren Lewis, Jesse Craigo, Spencer Craigo, Carly (Randell) Chambers, Nikki (Bo) McAbee, Kelly Chambers, Devin McConnell, Jake McConnell, & Dustin McConnell; special family friends, Steve & Tina Ricketts, Fredda Jordan, & Gerald from Anderson Mental Health.

Brook was preceded in death by his mother, Tina Lewis McConnell; maternal grandfather, William Ansel Lewis; and paternal grandfather, Billy McConnell.

He graduated from Belton-Honea Path High School in the Class of 2006.

In his free time, Brook enjoyed working with computers, going for walks, and exploring botany. Brook loved music and was quite the jokester.

A Memorial Service to honor Brook McConnell will be announced at a later date.

Brook will be missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness. He is now free from mental illness and addiction and safely with his mother. May he rest in peace.

Rest in peace Brook, you were always a good friend. Ill never forget the good times we had growing up together. You were one of the smartest person I ever seen on a computer. I still have the laptop you installed Linux on and it still works after 15 years. I know you're in a better place than you've ever known. And finally at peace. Till we meet again so long my friend.

I remember your curly, blonde hair and big blue eyes. You loved drinking Yoo-hoo, eating bologna while drinking Dr.Pepper and watching cartoons. You were SO smart. Unbelievably smart and so funny. I always enjoyed our conversations outside of grandmas late at night. You loved your momma and Papa so much. I´m glad you are finally at peace with them. We will miss you and we will love you always.
