Rowena Elsie Evans

Rowena Elsie EVANS 1924 - 2004 Rowena, (daughter of Oscar and Marie Magnuson) passed away peacefully August 3, 2004 after a courageous struggle with emphysema. Rowena and husband Bill raised four children in Seattle and Bellevue. She was active in the Minnie Fortson Kirk Children's Hospital Guild and avid gardener. The family enjoyed many years of boating together in the San Juans and Desolation Sound. After moving to Rancho Mirage, California in 1975, she worked as a scheduling secretary for former President Gerald R. Ford. Preceded in death by husband Bill and daughter Lynda, her family was her greatest love. She is survived by her son William Evans Jr., (Barbara) Port Orchard, three grandchildren Willie, Kyle and Kelley; daughter Karen Evans Lauzon, (Andre) Vashon Island and daughter Lisa Evans, Seattle. She leaves a large circle of family and friends whose lives have been deeply touched by her presence. Her beautiful smile and encouraging words will long be remembered with love and gratitude. We love you Mom. Private Family Services will be held August 9 at Sunset Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Children's Hospital or Audubon Society.
