Roxey Stambaugh-Carlson Obituary
Her parents, George Marion and Zora Stambaugh raised her for many years at 418 Carlisle Street, Gettysburg, PA.
G. Marion was manager of Adams County Farm Bureau and Zora, for forty + years, a beloved Teacher.
Roxey graduated Gettysburg High, attended Gettysburg College and entered University of Maryland, Three-year, Registered Nurse Program in 1949. Graduating in 1952, she was employed by Western Electric Company in Baltimore, MD as an Industrial Nurse.
The Reverend Edwerth Korte performed ceremonies for her wedding to Herbert R. Eden, Miami, FL, in 1955 at the Gettysburg College Chapel. They made their residence in Hollywood Florida. The Eden union dissolved in 1962.
Their two sons, Rix and Tam, both former Marines, live in San Marcos, CA and Baxley, GA respectively. Tam and his wife Samantha have one daughter, Anastasia, a precious and loving child.
In 2004 Roxey married Roy J. Carlson, they made their home in Sebring, FL. Roy passed in 2018. Roxey made her residence in Waycross, GA in 2022.
Roxey's sibling, Phyllis Jeannine Stambaugh Tomsett, widowed in 2006, died in Sebring, FL in September 2017.
A nephew, Todd H. Tomsett and his wife Lisa, live in Bell, FL. He has a daughter, Michelle and Granddaughter, Harper.
Roxey was proud of her forty + years contribution to the Nursing profession.
Roxey passed at 4:24PM, peacefully and pain-free, after enjoying a visit with her son and granddaughter earlier that morning.
