FULLERTON - Roy Benorden, 96, of Fullerton died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital in Central City.
Services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Fullerton, with the Rev. Brad Rick officiating. Burial is at Columbus Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be 1-7 p.m. Friday at Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton.
Mr. Benorden was born June 2, 1906, to Henry and Elizabeth (Saubrei) Benorden in Blackhawk County, Iowa. He attended schools in Presho, S.D.
He married Lucille Ottilla Grossnicklaus on June 2, 1931, in Columbus. They lived and farmed in South Dakota and Platte, Valley and Nance counties. In 1976, they moved to Fullerton.
He was a member of the church.
He enjoyed yard and garden work.
Survivors include two sons, Robert (Shirley) Benorden of Fairmont and Deane (JoAnne) Benorden of Stromsburg; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife on Aug. 16, 1977; one son, David; two grandsons; three brothers, Harry, Oscar and Rueben; and three sisters, Amanda Jesse, Selma Hoppe and Esther Benorden.
