I think of the first game of tag, on western with Sis. I remember Roy going through a plate glass window at the church next door. I don't know how he came out of it without injuries. |He is now enjoying the Smokies, see ya soon,

Sonny, just got home from spending the day in the mountains. Made me think of you and the times we spent there. Missing you extra today. I'll hike to Abrams for us this spring.

When ever I watch UT play a game, I will always remember the times the 2 of us were able to watch a football game with our mom. Roy and I never sat close to her because we would be sure to come out with bruises.

Roy was a great writer. He enjoyed visiting with friends at the Senior Center of Leesburg.

Roy was a long-distance, email friend of my Mom's (Ellen). I got to talking to Roy when her health declined; first talking about Mom, then sort of taking over for her, corresponding with Roy several times per week. We switched from using Mom's old email account to my own, and continued even after she passed in the spring. I have to say I grew fond of our chats. I've missed them over the past 5 weeks or so- and I'll miss Roy. So long Roy, may you rest in peace! As Roy himself would sometimes sign off with, "we gone!"

Once when I was a wee lad, we were swimming in a friend's pool. I accidentally walked to fat and sank in the deep end like stone! He was socializing, but he noticed and immediately dove in and saved me!
