Roy Dale Abbott Obituary
He leaves behind his loving wife, Rhonda Abbott; sons, Chris Abbott (Annette), Jimmy Abbott (Liz), and Jamey Ketron (Carla); siblings, Linda Rhymer, Brenda Wampler, Paula LeDrew, Sharon Humphreys, Karen Hostetter, Darrell Abbott, many grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Timmy Abbott; parents, Blake (Bea) and Paul Abbott; brothers Ronnie, Phil, and Eddie Abbott; and special cousin, Arthur Brewster.
Dale dedicated many years of his life to the aerospace industry, working at Raytheon, Aero Structures and retiring from Bell Helicopter. His work ethic and dedication were admired by his colleagues and friends alike.
Dale's heart was truly golden, and his presence was a comfort to those around him. He enjoyed cooking his favorite recipes for family and friends, and he had a knack for finding the best deals. His furry companion, Roscoe, was always by his side, accompanying him on many adventures.
Dale had a particular passion for golf, which he played as often as possible. He was also a regular at poker nights and enjoyed going to the local casino. He loved being outdoors, playing horseshoes, and walking the local trails. His journeys often took him to Lexington and Myrtle Beach, SC, to visit his sons and grandchildren, where memories were made and cherished.
A celebration of Dale's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his memory and the immense impact he had on their lives. His legacy of love, friendship, and kindness will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege to know him and be loved by him.

I went to a service recently and the Pastor shared a story, and even though it was about a an elderly woman, I feel that it fits perfectly for you PawPaw, so I'd like to share an adaptation of that story:
An elderly man was on a ship back from visiting other Countries across the sea.
On the way back, the ship came across a storm and the seas were so rough, that the ship began taking on water and they had to evacuate the passengers on the life boats. The Captain of the ship was making his rounds, searching for any other passengers, when he saw this man, sitting in a rocking chair on the deck, just staring out at the ocean.
The Captain approached the man and asked him, "Sir, what are you doing? You need to get on a life boat with the rest of us. Don't you know the ship is sinking?"
The man sat quiet for a moment before he replied, "I have two sons waiting for me back home for my return, and I also have a son in Heaven. I'm just trying to decide who I want to go Home to."
I want to be selfish and tell you that I hate that you're no longer here with us, but I take great comfort in the fact that you're among family and loved ones, and at peace in your forever home.
You are, and will be, greatly missed, PawPaw.
