Roy V. "Rochus" Dosch

Aberdeen - Mass of Christian Burial for Roy V. “Rochus” Dosch, 96, of Aberdeen, will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 215 N. Arch St. Aberdeen. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Father Gregory Tschakert will be officiating. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, 414 5th Ave NW, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements. A Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary will be 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003 at the mortuary. Visitation will be from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday all at the mortuary. Relatives and pallbearers are asked to meet 1 p.m. Friday at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary. Roy passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2003 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor. Roy V. Dosch was born Jan. 10, 1907 to Valentine and Johanna (Schmitt) Dosch at Strasburg, N.D. where he was raised and attended country schools. Roy married Theresa Roehrich Jan. 6, 1933 at Strasburg, N.D. In 1942, they moved to Aberdeen. Roy was employed with the Milwaukee Railroad for many years until his retirement in 1972. Theresa passed away in July of 1996 and Roy has continued to make Aberdeen his home. Roy enjoyed fishing. He loved children and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Roy is survived by four sons; Don Dosch of Norwich, N.Y., Roy Dosch of Cucamonga Rancho, Calif., Val (Judy) Dosch of Minneapolis, Minn. and David Dosch of Santa Rosa, Calif., two daughters, Betty (Wendell) Jahner of Phoenix, Ariz. and JoAnn (LeRoy) Bieber of Leola, one sister, Elizabeth “Blonde” Benefit of Aberdeen, seventeen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Theresa, two sons, Robert Dosch and Joseph Dosch, three sisters and five brothers. Pallbearers will be his four sons; Don Dosch, Roy Dosch, Val Dosch and David Dosch and LeRoy Bieber and James Simmons.
