Roy L. Erickson

Fort Myers - Roy L. Erickson, age 97, of Fort Myers FL, and formerly of Decatur IL and Minneapolis MN, passed away on April 6, 2021. Preceded in death by wife Beverly. Survived by sons LeRoy Erickson (Carolyn) and Curt Erickson (Teresa), along with their children and grandchildren.

Roy grew up in Kelliher MN and served in the US Navy from 1940-45, achieving the rank of Chief Quartermaster. After leaving the Navy, he graduated from the University of Minnesota and William Mitchell Law School. Roy had a long career with Archer Daniels Midland, retiring in 1993 from his position as Senior Vice President and General Counsel. Upon retirement, he became a permanent resident of Fort Myers. Growing up in Minnesota, Roy enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman and active in Ducks Unlimited. Roy and Bev were married for 57 years and loved to travel. Over the years of their marriage, Bev and Roy traveled extensively throughout the world, experiencing great places and people.

Roy will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Local arrangements have been made with Fort Myers Memorial Gardens and interment will be at Sarasota National Cemetery in Sarasota FL. In accordance with Roy's wishes, no services are planned in Fort Myers. The family requests that any memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
