Roy HOARD Obituary
October 20, 1930 - December 10, 2016
Roy Hoard, beloved husband of Bella of Calgary, passed away on December 10, 2016, Calgary, Alberta at the age of 86. He was the loving father of Deborah and Cherry. He will also be missed by his grandson Richard. He will also be lovingly remembered by his sisters, Norma and Jeanne. He was predeceased by his first wife Betty, mother of Deborah, and siblings; Irene, Carl, Robert, Bert, Stanley, Maxie, and Herbert. Roy was born in Mitchellton , Sask. He took on a variety of work until joining the Canadian Armed Forces In July 1951. His military career spanned a total of 37 years including serving in Korea, Germany and Cyprus. Roy's love of animals included the rescue and care of several horses. He enjoyed a number of hobbies over the years including model steam engines, R/C model planes, flying an ultralight plane and following American Cowboy history. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 100 Street SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday December 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Special thanks to doctors and nurses at the Peter Lougheed Hospital. I served and worked with Roy in Calgary. I enjoyed his sense of humor and hard work ethic.
