Roy Klostermeyer

Mr. Roy Christian Klostermeyer, 80, of Morganton, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010, at Grace Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Klostermeyer was born Dec. 24, 1929, in St. Louis, Mo., to the late Roy C. Klostermeyer Sr. and Dorothy June Shaffner Klostermeyer. Mr. Klostermeyer was a faithful member of Bella Vista Baptist Church, Bella Vista, Ark., and had retired as vice president from XIM Products. He was a former member of the Moose Club and the Elks Club. Roy had a great sense of humor and loved to be around people and everyone loved to be around him. He was an avid sports fan, having played professionally as a lineman for the Cleveland Browns football team. Surviving are his wife, Juanita Rawlins Johnson Klostermeyer of the home; his children, Roy Klostermeyer III and his wife, Beverly, of California, William F. Klostermeyer of Ohio, Robert R. Klostermeyer and his wife, Glenda, of Missouri, James D. Klostermeyer and his fiancée, Kathy Lawson, of Connelly Springs, Kathy Bender and her husband, Eric, of Ohio and Thomas Klostermeyer of North Carolina; stepchildren, Paul Johnson and his wife, Amy, of Colorado, Timothy Johnson and his wife, Selina, of Arkansas and Scott Johnson of North Carolina; his grandchildren, James Jr., Kelsey, Eric, Sarah, Megan and Elizabeth; stepgrandchildren, Kayla, Kyle, Michael, Sarah, Lyndsey, Max, Kohen, Vance and Maia; and great-grandchildren, Logan and James III. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Labaddie; and his second wife, Mary Irene Hesley. A service of remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Wilkie's Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Raymer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery, Boone. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday at Wilkie's Grove Baptist Church. Heritage Funeral Service and Crematory is assisting the family.
