Roy Holcomb LeaFuneral service for Roy Holcomb Lea, 87, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 13, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Chickasha. Roy Holcomb Lea was born April 23, 1921 in Ninnekah, Oklahoma the son of Frank and Verra (Holcomb) Lea.  He died December 10, 2008 in Chickasha.Roy served in the U.S. Navy during World War II from 1942-1946.  He served on the U.S.S. Cuttyhunk. Roy and Shirley Edwards were married April 5, 1946 in Garvey, California.  He attended Cameron College for two years. He worked in retail sales and management for many years.  Roy worked for Surge Dairy Equipment for 27 years, worked 1 year at Grady County Feed and Seed, and 20 years at Brandts, retiring December 31, 1995. Roy was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School teacher, deacon and sang in the choir.  He was also a part of the prison ministry.  Roy was a Christian witness to all he met. He liked gardening and caring for his cattle. Roy loved and enjoyed his family.Roy was preceded in death by: Parents, 1 brother:  Frank Elman Lea. Survivors include: Wife:  Shirley Lea of the home, 2 daughters: Lorraine Baugh of Norman, OK, Martha King and husband, Mac, of Chickasha, 2 grandsons:  Billy Whinery of Norman, Bryan Whinery of Verden, 1 brother:  Dan Lea of Arlington, TX. Several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Shirley, Lorraine, and Martha, I always loved to hear Roy sing. He sure did love the Lord. May the love of friends give you comfort and may the love of God give you peace!
