In memory of
LaRue Bennett

I have appreciated Roy since the late 1960s when I heard a tape of his lectures at Pepperdine on Balance in Christianity. I heard him several times in meetings in Nashville. Before I married, I had my wife-to-be listen to all of his tapes. We have enjoyed many of his Osbornisms like "Act, don't react" and "Mister,do you tie shoes?" He was a great preacher and servant of the Lord. Our sympathies to the family there.

In 1974, I had the privilege of working for Roy as his secretary at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ. I quickly learned that he was a devoted husband and father, but most of all he was a true Christian. He was loved and respected and many church members came to him for advice. He traveled often and people looked forward to hearing him preach or hold meetings. He was a gift to us from God.

I met Mr. Osborne at the hearing center almost 5 years ago. His wonderful smile and kind words always brightened my day. I will truly miss him. My prayers are for all who loved him. ----- SA Hearing/A&B Hearing -- Linda

I have loved Roy Osborne since I was a very young child. His simple messages of love and acceptance were greatly appreciated by young and old alike. He was a great man of God.

Forty years ago next month, Roy married us in his library at Sunset Ridge, the church where my sister, Sharon Kay, worked, and where she and Leonard are members. True to his calling, he offered us advice. He told us that, as a young married couple, he and his wife decided they would have their life, their style, their way. And if that meant eating cake for breakfast, well, they do just that. I also remember watching Roy play pool with my father at Sharon Kay and Leonard's home. Neither of them liked to lose. But on his journey right now, there are no losers. Godspeed, Roy. Ellen Warthoe/Blake Hardy, Fort Worth
