Mr. Roy Eugene Ray

Roy Eugene Ray, 67, of Leland, MS, died at his home on Friday, November 19, 2010. Services will be at 9 am Monday, November 22, 2010, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. James Wilkerson officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 8-9 am. Burial will follow at Merigold Cemetery. Roy attended Ruleville High School and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1962. He enjoyed playing football at both schools. He worked as a salesman for many years for Mitchel Hardware in Shelby and had recently retired from Ferguson Grease Company in Greenville after working there for over twenty years. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. Roy is survived by two daughters, Dr. Raanne Ray Tindle (Allen) and Renae Ray of Cleveland and one granddaughter, Trevor Tindle. He is also survived by two brothers, Emmett R. Ray of Merigold and Bobby A. Ray of Clemmons, NC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett Eugene and Lucille Monroe Ray; one sister, Olene Fitzgerald; one brother, Clayton C. Ray, and a companion, Marie Fleming.
