This is late, but felt from the heart. I'm thinking of Arlene and her loving family at this holiday season. We know Arlene is in heaven and has been joined there by her brother Gordon. May she rest in God's arms and always be remembered for all the love she given & shared. Arlene's cousin Mary.

Arlene was an amazing human being full of love and consideration for others. She also valued and welcomed people from other countries. She loved learning about the world and about other languages. I am from Venezuela, a country Arlene loved and always had beautiful things to say about. My family will always remember Arlene. May the Lord help Arlene's family to have peace and calm after such sad loss.

In Memory of Arlene Krecklau, 4/6/41-3/27/06. These are the words I shared at her funeral on March 31, 2006.
Arlene was my friend. To others of you here, she was mother, grandmother, sister, wife, cousin, aunt, friend. I can’t speak for who she was to you, but I can paint a word picture of who she was for me.
When I first met Arlene, she was commodore of the Windward S’s sailing club. I was a beginning sailor and I admired this woman who carried herself with such self-confidence, a competent skipper, so full of life. We soon became friends and shared many sailing adventures on the Great Lakes, in Florida and the Caribbean.
Through the years, she shared with me stories of her life. Did you know she had polio as a child? The dormant poliovirus in her body prevented her from receiving the life-sustaining heart transplant she would need later in life. Did you know she didn’t consider her heart disease an illness? To her it was a “condition” that she simply had to deal with. She continued to live her life in spite of it.
A few days before her death, I saw Arlene in her tired, worn out body. I told her, “I don’t want to remember you like this. I choose to remember you in love with life.” She loved to dance. She loved Mexican food. She loved to sail. She loved to travel. She loved her family. She loved her friends. Through our memories of her, Arlene lives on in our hearts.

Arlene was a loving caring person which you knew immediately after meeting her. I know she is in heaven and I hope to sail with her again.

Arlene had such strong faith during her long illness and she was always so very positive at all times. An amazing friend and I will miss her.

We will be missing Arlene on our sailing trips, but remember her as a life loving crew member with her humorous and outgoing personality.

So very sorry to hear of Arlene's passing. I (Johnie)was a co-worker of Arlene's when she worked at Our Own Hardware back in the 70's and we have been friends ever since. She was a fun person and a good friend. Our sympathy and our prayers are with all the family.

Arlene taught me so much about obedience to God's will for each of us. She was a faithful servant of the Lord. May she now have everlasting peace.

Wonderful memories of caring for Arlene in her home in Eagan. What a vibrant and colorful life and lady.
