Roy Ziff Obituary
Born in Jersey City, NJ on January 18, 1935, Dr. Ziff passed away on January 17, 2018, one day shy of his 83rd birthday.
He is predeceased by parents, Helen (nee Weinfeld) and Charles Ziff. He leaves behind his wife of 59 yrs., Elaine (nee Sandler) and his sons, Robert J. (Bonnie), Laurence F. (Lorraine) and Kenneth T. (Christina); as well as seven grandchildren: Adam, Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas, Alexa, Michelle and Rachel. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Brown and brother, Stanley Ziff; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is a graduate of Temple University School of Pharmacy and New York University, School of Dentistry. He was a member of the N.J. Dental Association and the International Fellowship of Dentistry as well as other professional Dental Organizations. He had a 10-year career as a Pharmacist before returning to school to become a Dentist. He had a successful dental practice in Hasbrouck Heights and Westwood, NJ.
He was a long-standing member of Temple Emanuel, Woodcliff Lake, as well as an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary with the rank of Rear Commodore. He served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of M.A.R.C.O., relaying Ham Radio messages between the troops in battle and families at home.
His greatest love and enjoyment was his family.
Service Friday, January 19, 2018- Visitation 12:00 and Service at 1PM at Gutterman and Musicant, 402 Park St., Hackensack.
Contributions may be made to Temple Emanuel, Woodcliff Lake or a charity of your choice.
