Ruben V. Aranda
Ruben V. Aranda, age 71, passed away on Saturday, September10, 2022 in Kermit, TX. He was born on July25, 1951 in Kermit, TX to David and Maria (Vasquez) Aranda. Ruben married Jovie Yanez on August 16, 1969 in Kermit, TX and they shared 53 wonderful years together.
Ruben was a very active member of Eastside Church of Christ in Kermit where he served as an Elder for many years. He was instrumental in the local jail ministry, the Spanish Church of Christ, supporting missionaries and also serving as a missionary himself, he was also active in helping widows and church outreach programs. When not working for the church Ruben enjoyed being outdoors, fishing with his brothers, playing pool, music, and was never very far from his cup of coffee. Ruben’s family was also very important. He loved being a father, grandfather and great-grandfather and was supportive of all his kids in their activities.
Ruben is survived by his wife: Jovie Aranda of Kermit, TX.; daughters: Tammy Aranda and boyfriend Javier Almaral of Kermit, TX., and Tanya Drew and husband Jeff of Lewisville, TX.; brothers: Raul Aranda and wife Marcela of Bryan, TX., and Rey Aranda and wife Mary of Andrews, TX.; sisters: Romelia Higgins and husband Jim of Killeen, TX., Rosie Hernandez and Pete Hernandez of El Paso, TX.; sister-in-law: Delia Aranda of Kermit, TX.; grandchildren: Andrew Aranda, Aaron Aranda, Aricka Hernandez, Jose Carrasco, Carlos Carrasco, and Colby Drew; and great-grandchildren: Kori Aranda and Eziah Aranda
He was preceded in death by his parents: David and Maria Aranda: son: David Aranda and brother: Rogelio Aranda.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Eastside Church of Christ in Kermit officiated by Bro. Roy Christopher. Burial will follow at Kermit Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Aricka Hernandez, Jeff Drew, Aaron Aranda, Marco Aranda, Jose Carrasco, Carlos Carrasco, and Colby Drew. Honorary pallbearers are: Jessie Yanez, Rene Kee, Raul Aranda, Rey Aranda, Ricky Hernandez, Tommy Rivera and Andrew Aranda.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Eastside Church of Christ, PO Box 845 Kermit. TX 79745.
Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor and condolences may be sent to the family online at www.fs-fp.com.
