Funeral services for Ruby Nell Cook 96, of Palestine, will be held graveside as requested by Mrs. Cook, at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 27, 2022. She will be laid to rest beside the love of her life at Chambers cemetery. The service will be officiated by her great grandson, Tony Austin Dommert of Madisonville, Texas. The family would love to celebrate the memories of our Mother’s life with you on Saturday, February 26, 2022 from 6-8pm at Bailey & Foster Funeral Home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bailey & Foster Funeral Home.
The last years of her life were lived in Brookdale Assisted Living in Palestine where the staff of Stephen Sheffield and Kelly Halbert along with Caring Hearts Hospice gave her excellent and loving care. Her daughter, Ina Sue Markham also lives there and checked on our ‘Mama’ daily.
Ruby Nell Cook was the lifelong partner in marriage, childrearing, and business to Patrick Delaney Cook Jr. who died in 1992. Together they shared the love of five children; Jerry Pat Cook, Ina Sue Markham, Ronnie Cook, Tommy Cook and Evonne Boggs. These five children multiplied into over 30 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and the circle continues to grow. Ruby Nell is also survived by Mrs. Cook’s sister-in-law, Mary Thomason who lives with her husband David in Jacksonville, Texas. How can you count the number of lives touched? It is impossible to do so; we do not know even half of the story.
There was a great reunion waiting for her in a place where there is no more pain, no more tears. Jesus prepared the way, do you know him? We will see you on the other side ‘Mama’.

So many times you asked for Jesus and He answered your prayers to take you to a place that He had prepared for you. Give Daddy a big hug for me. Thank you for having me!

My prayers and deepest sympathy in the loss of your precious mother. Such a wonderful family and I loved getting to know them and we were all neighbors in the Walston Springs area and got to know quite a few of the Cook’s. God Bless you and comfort you during this time.
