Ruby Estill Obituary
Ruby Lee Porter Estill of Huntsville died Monday. She was 84. Mrs. Estill was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Estill. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church and had served a number of congregations throughout Alabama, including those in Clayton, Forest Home and Ashville, as a Baptist minister's wife for several years before moving to Huntsville. Surviving her is her son, Jerry R. Estill of Rileyville, Va., an editor for The Associated Press in Washington, D.C.; and two granddaughters, Melissa Estill of Falls Church, Va., and Daphne Estill of Bristow, Va. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Spry Funeral Home on Memorial Parkway, with services there at 10 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Walter G. Nunn officiating. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery near Winfield. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Lakewood Baptist Church.
