October 20, 1932 – January 19, 2023
Rubyalice Peach was born in Laramie, Wy and resided in Sinclair/Encampment area of Wyoming most of her life. She died from complications of Alzheimers in the Saratoga Care Center, in the arms of her oldest daughter.
She graduated from Rawlins High School in 1951 and married Stanley Ross shortly thereafter. Early in their marriage, they traveled to California to serve in the USMC and made many lifelong friends. Rubyalice worked for Carbon County for 27 years, first as assistant county clerk, then deputy sheriff; retiring in 1991. She was very proud of her service in the sheriff’s office.
She enjoyed camping in the Wyoming mountains, rooting for the Denver Broncos and the Wyoming university football team. In retirement, Stanley and Rubyalice split their time between Sinclair and Encampment. During this time, she volunteered at the Encampment Museum, founded the Sinclair Red Hat Chapter, and took many trips with the Heritage Club. She was an avid reader until macular degeneration took her eyesight.
Rubyalice was preceded in death by her parents, Melbourne and Loma Peach, husband, Stanley, and son-in-law Melvin Bennett. She is survived by her brother, Joseph(Cathy) of Cheyenne, children: Karen Bennett of Grand Junction Co, Dennis (Colette) of Florida, Valerie Sprecher Roberts (Richard) of Casper, eight grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life is to be held May 21, 2023 @ 1100 At the Opera House in Encampment, Wy.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Wyoming visually impairment organization.
