I began my relationship with Rudy shortly after he came to the U.S. from Czechoslovakia in 1969 and continued it up to this day. He was a person of great discipline and kindness who truly enjoyed the opportunities he found, especially, I think, the opportunity to travel. I will fondly remember the lunches we shared for more than 40 years at the Riverside Restaurant, his love for and appreciation of Slavka, his respect for his partners, son Peter and Dr. Joe Kucera and the regard with which he was held at MacNeal Hospital. He will be missed. May he rest in peace.
