RUDOLPH G. SURPRENANT, Jr. 1929 - 2017
BROOKLYN - Rudolph G. Surprenant, Jr., 87, loving companion of Janet Stimac, passed away March 15, 2017. He was born June 21, 1929 in Brooklyn, a son of the late Rudolph G. and Yvette (Despathy) Surprenant, Sr. and had resided in Brooklyn for most of his life. Mr. Surprenant was self employed as a bricklayer. He was an active member of the Plainfield Lions Club and the Danielson Lodge of Elks. He enjoyed fishing, boating and bird watching. Besides his companion, he leaves 2 sons, Gary E. Surprenant and his wife Robin of Central Village, Gerard A. Surprenant and Debra DiMarco of Canterbury; 2 daughters Barbara Brunette and husband Don of FL, Sherri LaForge of Woodstock; a brother Roland Surprenant of Canterbury; 2 sisters Jacqueline Engblom of Brooklyn, Jenny Bessette of Lisbon, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Lucille (Tetreault) Surprenant, a grandson Gerry Surprenant Jr., a brother Arthur "Butch" Surprenant, a sister, Sister Theresa Surprenant. Memorial visiting hours are Friday (3-24-17) from 10:00AM until 1:00PM at Dougherty Bros. Funeral Home 595 Norwich Rd. Plainfield followed by a graveside service at 1:30PM in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wauregan. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to CT.
