Rudy Morgan Obituary
Born in Scranton on Jan. 11, 1980, Rudy was the son of father, Jack Morgan and his wife Sara of Old Forge and mother, Andrea Kuchinski Schroff and her husband Dr. Richard of Norfolk, Virginia. Raised in Virginia, he earned class valedictorian status at Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, Va. He then attended the University of Virginia where he would graduate in 2001 with Magna Cum Laude honors distinction, and as an Echols Scholar, earning a bachelor's degree in American Studies. He was currently completing a master's degree in Professional Studies in supply chain management from Penn State University Smeal College of Business.
Upon graduation, he moved to Japan where he had briefly taught English to Japanese students. From 2003 to 2014 he worked at his family's business, Cook's Wholesale Foods, with locations in Old Forge, Swoyersville and Berwick. His efforts as both project and plant manager resulted in tremendous growth for the third-generation business. Along with completing his masters degree, he was currently working for Corning Life Sciences as a customer service coordinator.
Holding APICS CPIM certification, he served as APICS Northeastern Chapter president. Also holding a minor from the University of Virginia in classical guitar, he was a talented guitarist himself. He also enjoyed his world travels. Caring, gentle, humble but proud, Rudy will be forever missed by the many family and friends he leaves behind.
He is also survived by his siblings, John Morgan of Turlock, Calif.; Rick Schroff, III, Elizabeth Rettie and husband Jordan; and Samantha Schroff, all of Norfolk, Va.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Vicki Crispell Novajosky and husband, William; maternal grandmother, Tekla Kuchinski; aunts and uncles, Gilbert Morgan and wife Deborah, Henry, James and Michael Kuchinski and John Kuchinski and wife Robin; and a sister-in-law, Courtney Burridge and husband Justin.
Paternal grandparents, John (Cooke) and Virginia Price Morgan, and a maternal grandfather, preceded him in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Divine Mercy Parish to be celebrated by the Rev. Francis L. Pauselli, pastor. Interment, St. Mary of Czestochowa Cemetery, Moosic.
With Rudy's love for animals, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Road, South Abington Township, PA, 18411.
Arrangements are under the care of the Thomas P. Kearney Funeral Home Inc., 517 N. Main St., Old Forge. Please visit the funeral home's website to leave an online condolence.

The days I wonder if I can go on, I call upon you to assist me. Thank you for allowing me so close to you all those years. Thank you for the big, yet peaceful love you had to offer to me. I have not ceased one solitary second in mine for you, nor will I ever, all of the remaining days of my life. I can't believe now I am just learning of this after running into Rudy's dad John. I went to St Mary's with Rudy and unfortunately lost touch with him. I remember he was just so damn smart and taught me how to play chess. I recall the fun sleepovers we had. You will always be that young kid I knew forever with me.

My deepest condolences for your loss. I was overwhelmed when I read about Rudy in the UVA Alumni Magazine. Rudy worked for me as a graphic designer when he was a student at the University. He was always a welcoming and uplifting presence in the Music office. He was talented, intelligent, considerate and charming. His quick wit and beguiling smile could ease even a difficult conversation. It is hard for me to imagine that he is gone. I wish you strength, courage and understanding as you grieve.

I had the pleasure of meeting Rudy & Casey @ the local coffee house in Green Ridge, over time we became friends, they were a special couple, Fun, Smart, full of life, when I was moving out of town, Rudy insisted on helping me move, Nobody offers to help with that dreaded task... My deepest condolences to Rudy's wife, Casey, his parents and his entire family. I had the privilege of working with Rudy for two consecutive semesters in the Penn State Supply Chain Management program. Rudy was so cooperative, willing, punctual, helpful and insightful - It was a real pleasure to work with him on all assignments.
We all said goodbye to him at the end of our meeting on Monday night not knowing that, sadly, it would be our last. His passing has been a great loss for our team. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife, family and friends at this difficult time. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Rudy was one of my very closest friends in high school. I am still in shock and words cannot convey how much i like you and appreciate you Rudy. We met as students at Penn State and took classes together and became friends and teammates. I spoke to you Monday night at 7PM and was scheduled to meet again Thursday night at 9PM for a meeting with the team. I became worried when you didn't show up for the call because it was unlike you. The biggest shock came when on Friday i got a call from you wife that you are passed on to GLORY.. I will truly miss you and your goodness. I will certainly never forget the email you sent to me out of nowhere when i was looking for a job. You asked about how i was doing and that i should keeping hanging there because the right job will come. IT IS A BIG DEAL TO ME.
