WONDER LAKE - Russell E. Carr Sr., 67, of Wonder Lake, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 2, 1940, on his grandparents' farm, named "Someday Farm," on the outskirts of McHenry, to Elmer and Emily (Hunter) Carr. On Sept. 16, 1961, he married Donna Caley at Christ the King Church in Wonder Lake.

A lifelong resident of McHenry County, he grew up on the Carr Farm in Ringwood. He had resided in Wonder Lake for the past 45 years.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 250 for 41 years. He was employed as a foreman in the concrete division.

During his 37-year career, he worked for Ragner-Benson Inc., G & S, and Niles Construction Companies. He retired in October 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Donna; four children, Russell (Angela) Carr Jr. of Wonder Lake, James (Michelle) Carr of Ringwood, Robert (Jenn) Carr of McHenry and Kimberly (Joe) Pratt of Bradenton, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Travis (Michelle), Josh, Corey, Russell III, Christina, Jordan, Tommy, Kayti and Libby; six great-grandchildren, Joey, Rusty, Aalyah, Ethan, Ava and Lilly; and two sisters, Virginia (Stu) McPhail of Denver and Mary (Joe) Condon of McHenry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James.

The visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Monday, June 2, at Justen's Wonder Lake Funeral Home, 7611 W. Hancock Drive, Wonder Lake. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5006 E. Wonder Lake Road, Wonder Lake.

Interment will be in Carr Harrison Cemetery in Ringwood.

Aunt Donna & Family,

We are so sorry for your loss. We will miss him very much.
I have alot of good memorys of Uncle Russ. As we were kids growing up Uncle Russ loved to joke around as well as I did. We had alot of fun.

Dear Aunt Donna and family,
I'm real sorry for your loss. We will miss Uncle Russ. He was alway joking with us and our kids. He will be missed by all who knew him. May you all have the peace of God in your hearts during your healing. Alway's remember Uncle Russ is now all of your garudian angel and will be walking beside you always.
