RUSSELL JOHN CHAPMAN October 10, 1963 - May13, 2007 God opened his arms and took another precious soul today, Russell Chapman. Russ was a humble man known for his passion for animals, fishing and antiques. He was a labor of love, always taking care of his brother, sister and Mother. He will be remembered for his incredible strength and wisdom and the compassion he had for the people he loved so much. While being a private person, he never hesitated to reach out to everyone with a kind word and funny story. Russ was born in Ventura, California. The two people that helped to raised Russ and were a huge influence in the kind of incredible man he became were his paternal grandparents Marion and MaryJane Chapman. Russ was a bail bondsman and bounty hunter for most of his adult life, starting in Colorado as a teenager, working with his Mother, Dianne Wimberly Carpenter who owned Dianne's Bail Bonds. He then later moved to Hawaii with his brother Tim "Youngblood" Chapman, where they ran Island Bail Bonds, and also worked with Duane "Dog" Chapman of DaKine Bail Bonds. After being in Hawaii for more than 10 yrs, he moved to Mississippi in September 2004 to take care of his Mother who was diagnosed with cancer and help her as Co-Owner of A-Sonshine Bail Bonds in Pascagoula. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Private services have been arranged. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions be made to your local animal shelter or Humane Society. Russ is survived by his daughter Amber (William) Chapman Liptak of Tampa, Florida. His mother Dianne Carpenter, Lucedale, MS. Brother Tim (Davina) Chapman, Honolulu, HI. Sister Kristen (Jack Emeott), Saginaw, MI. Grandparents: Marion & MaryJane Chapman, Ventura, CA and Harriet & the late John H. Wimberly, Biloxi, MS. Aunts: Cathy Wimberly, Biloxi, MS, Bobbi (Paul) Harbrecht, Biloxi, MS & Vicki (Tom) Wimberly-Moore, Evergreen, CO. Nieces: Felicia Warner, Sagihaw, MI, Summer and Autumn Chapman, Honolulu, HI. Nephews: Charles Warner, Hemlock, MI, Timothy Chapman, Arvada, CO, Jack III, Kody and Justin Emeott, MI. And many more loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
