I am very sorry to here about Russ, I heard that he was ill but didn't realize that he had died. I just received an e-mail today and was sad to hear of his death. I regret not knowing of his death earlier so I could pay my respects in person.
He was a great guy and I enjoyed performing and visiting with him during gigs. I respected him equally as a person and a musician.

Dear Pam,
Though I haven't seen or talked to you or Russ for many years, I was deeply saddened by the news. The moments I remember playing in the Hartt Symphony and the Hartt Bass Quartet with Russ are very fond ones. He was a fine musician and a great person.
My sincerest sympathy to you and your family.
Regards,

To the family and friends of Russ Elliott: Russ and I worked together MANY times either on casual engagements, or for the Landerman/Jarvis Agencies. We shall all miss his wonderful smile, that laid back personality, and the occasional witicisms he would gift us with as he puffed on that pipe which was a trademark trait. The entire music community shall miss him not only for his wonderful talent, but because he was such a wonderful person. My wife and I shall add our prayers to yours for this wonderful man.
