Gosh, this whole community misses Russ, and often speak of his many contributions to Scenic Hills. He was a wonderful friend, and family man. I often repeat his statement, "If you don't love your spouse, you shouldn't live in Scenic Hills". And Russ DID LOVE YOU SO MUCH MARY ELLEN! What an honor to be loved so sincerely. We all still share in your loss, and think of you and your family so often.

So sorry to hear about this. I worked with Russ while I was with WPL, and he was always a straight shooter. You could always rely on him for the right story.
I have to admit, I didn't recognize him at first from the photo, because he was a bit heavier when I knew him.

Anyway, I'm sorry for your loss, and the world was a better place because of Russ.

Dear Mary, Dan, Lori and Lisa, I am so sorry for your loss. Russ was an amazing man, and as I told Dan, I have never known a better father and family man in my life. He was so full of life, love, wisdom and a great sense of humor to keep us laughing. He is no longer is pain and gone to a better place where he will be welcomed with love from Mops & Granddaddy and my mom. I'm jealous that Russ gets to be with my mom in heaven. Love and prayers to you and I wish we could be there with you.

Dear Mary Ellen and Family, May you draw comfort from your memories of the happier times, and peace in your faith. Russ provided us all with some wonderful memories, and some of his original thoughts. Ex: "You have to love your partner to live in Scenic Hills". Russ not only "talked the talk, he walked the walk", with dedication and loyalty to his wife, family, and friends. Russ and the family will be in our hearts, our thoughts, and our prayers. With love and sympathy, Bob and Claudia Simmons
