Russell Lynn Marcus BRIGHAM CITY – If the pearly gates are out of plumb or the golden paths are off by a quarter of an inch in two miles, they will soon be perfect. Russell Lynn Marcus passed from this life Friday, January 15, 2010, surrounded by family and friends who love him. His cancer moved as fast as he did. Rusty was born to Bus and Audrey Young Marcus on November 20, 1943. He joined his older brother, Bruce and sister Reta Rae, and later welcomed another sister, Julie Kay. He grew up in South Weber and Parker, AZ., where he graduated from high school. Rusty served in the Army and is a Viet Nam veteran. He married Betty Johnson July 4, 1976 in Las Vegas, NV and together they had a son, Joshua Lynn (Sarah). Rusty and Betty lived in Phoenix, AZ where they were both involved in the optical business. They returned to Brigham in 1978 and have lived there since. Rusty returned to construction work upon his return, and worked for Advanced Paving and for Whitaker Construction before branching out into his own business. He planned and built a ready mix concrete truck, and was owner and operator of Concrete Express. There was nothing Rusty couldn’t do, and little he wouldn’t do. He took care of his family and everyone else in his world. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife and son, his sisters, nieces, nephews, in-laws and neighbors who loved him immeasurably. At Rusty’s request, he will be cremated and no service will be held. His family and close friends will hold a celebration of his life at a later date.
