Russell "Rusty" Poland

Russell Francis "Rusty" Poland, aged 82, passed away on August 24, 2024, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born in the same city on January 30, 1942, Rusty dedicated his life to serving his community as a member of the Cincinnati Fire Department.

Rusty was a beloved figure, known for his caring nature, quick wit, and deep commitment to family. He attended Elder High School, graduating in the class of 1960, and spent his career courageously serving as a firefighter, a role that mirrored his lifelong penchant for helping others.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Darlene Poland, and a large loving family including his children Lisa Barnes (Brant), Tina Helferich, Michelle Fisher (Ron), Zachary Poland (Becky), and Amanda Madden (Johnathan) and Daughter-in-law Missy. Rusty was a cherished brother to Ron (Marty), Jerry (Jenni), Nancy(Paul), and Pam(Alex). His legacy extends to his adored grandchildren-Drew, Conner, Morgan, Jerry, Jaclyn, Jenna, Jessica, Russell, Jacob, Emma, Gabe, Lucas, Skylar, Hattie, and Frankie. Great grandchildren Elliot, Lux, Kendall, Maddison, Kade, Coen, Jack, Aria, Aiden. Numerous nieces and nephews-all of who will miss his humor and love immensely.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Russell K. and Mary Poland; his sister, Bonnie Minning (Bob); and his son, Russell J. Poland (Missy).

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024, at Holy Family Church in Price Hill, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. Attendees are invited to join the family for coffee and donuts after the service.
