Russell "Bud" Rogers, 83, of Ceres passed away, May 19, 2016 at his home, losing his battle with cancer.
Bud is survived by his wife Shirley of 63 years; daughter Marsha (Ron) Lane; 4 sons, Victor (Angela), Russ (Beth), Daniel (Bev) and Keith; brother-in-law Ralph "Sonny" Barger (Zorana); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bud was born March 4, 1933 in Long Beach, CA during the aftermath of the 1933 earthquake. He was raised in Oakland and moved to Ceres in 1975.
Bud enjoyed his vegetable garden and walking in the park each morning with friends. He loved poetry and storytelling. He published his biography, "Seeds in the Wind," after he retired.
Bud lived a very full life. After 17 years with Del Monte Can Company in Oakland, he became self-employed. Bud attended MJC and joined the ROP Building and Construction program at Downey High always wanting to learn more.

A really great guy that had a magnetic personality that everybody liked. I miss him a lot. I can see parts of his personality in all of the family. He was proud of everyone's accomplishments and loved to talk about them. I wish I had more time with him.
